Mark Friend
DAR, Certified Appraisal Reviewer – Owner and Operator
Mark is the owner and operator of Friend & Associates. Mark graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Commerce. He began his career in the hotel industry with various management positions with Marriott. Mark’s roots in appraisals began at a hospitality consulting firm where he assisted on feasibility studies, and commercial appraisals for clients in the hospitality and tourism industry.
From luxury penthouse condominiums in Toronto to Fourplex properties in Hamilton, Mark has completed thousands of complex residential appraisal assignments throughout the GTA. His strengths in customer service, leadership, attention to detail, and market analysis and research have catapulted Friend & Associates into a top choice appraisal firm to a wide range of owners, lenders, purchasers, and appraisal management companies.
Mary Friend
Finance and Administration
Mary is a University of Guelph graduate with a Bachelor of Arts: Honours Art History, Studio Art Minor Degree, who has worked in a multitude of functions in administration, finance and event management in the arts and culture industry. Mary brings over a decade of expertise in administration and finance to Friend & Associates, and her creative out-of-the-box approach to business keeps our firm striving for quality and innovation.
Mary oversees office management, finance and accounting, assists with business forecasting, market research, data collection/analysis, and corresponds/maintains relations with appraisal management companies, financial lenders, and prospective clients.
James Andrade
DAR – Associate Appraiser
As a senior appraiser, James has provided appraisal services and opinions of value on over 2,000 properties in the Greater Toronto Area. James is a graduate of Georgian College where he obtained his Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology. James started his appraisal career working at an appraisal management company, where he completed several appraisals in different markets in Ontario under strict time constraints.
James has completed appraisals on heritage properties, executive properties, new construction, renovation projects, acreage properties, and multi-units properties with a strong focus and expertise in Brampton, Mississauga, Oakville, and Burlington.
Mitchell Romeo
DAR – Associate Appraiser
Mitchell has more than 17 years of experience in the homebuilding industry and an extensive knowledge of real estate construction, building materials, project management, building code, and cost estimation.
Prior to beginning his appraisal career with Friend & Associates Mitchell studied Civil Engineering at Humber College. His motivation, experience, and focus led him to achieve his Designated Appraiser Residential (DAR) in a short time period. Mitchell has carried out the majority of his appraisal assignments in Burlington, Oakville, and Mississauga on executive properties, new construction, acreage properties, multi-unit properties, condominiums, and waterfront properties.
Wesley Mohamed
Candidate Member – Associate Appraiser
Wesley joins Friend & Associates as a seasoned real estate professional. He has worked in the real estate field for more than 10 years with his experience in home inspections and energy assessments and has his RECO license. He has worked widely throughout Ontario and has experience with a wide variety home builds. His previous work allows him to have a strong background and understanding of the behaviour of buyers and sellers in the marketplace.
Wesley holds a diploma in Business Administration and Management from Centennial College, a diploma in HR Management from Centennial College, a Home Inspection Certificate from Seneca College, and is a member in good standing with interNACHI.
